From 2008 to 2012, the German Government's “Cultural Preservation Programme” digitised these contents and created a CD called ‘Ghana Muntie’. The project terminated with a closing ceremony at which the Deputy Minister of Information and representatives of various universities received copies of the disk. The project had been realised by Dr. Markus Coester, ethno-musicologist and anthropologist at the University of Hildesheim, Germany, in cooperation with staff of the Gramophone Library. The German Deputy Head of Mission, Thomas Wimmer, emphasised the continuous assistance of the German government for projects that preserve the cultural heritage in Ghana. The Embassy ensured that 500 copies of the CD will be distributed to schools for educational purposes.  Ghanaische Tanzgruppe Enlarge image (© Botschaft Accra)
