After the intergovernmental negotiations in June 2015, GIZ Ghana is focusing its support on three areas: agriculture, governance, and sustainable economic development. Additionally, our portfolio extends to other areas such as peace and security, improvement of public finances and renewable energy.

We are a German federal enterprise and offer worldwide workable, sustainable and effective solutions in political, economic and social change processes. GIZ’s work in Ghana is commissioned primarily by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), but we also implement on behalf of other German federal or state ministries. Moreover, we work for bilateral development partners and international organizations, both from the public and private sectors. Our team in Ghana comprises 234 staff members, most of them being National Personnel.
