Solemn opening of the new library at the Kofi Annan Int. Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC)

On 1st June 2012 the new library of the KAIPTC has been inaugurated with a grand ceremony which was attended by the Ghanaian Minister of Defense, Lt General (rtd) John H. Smith and Commandant Air Vice Marshal Christian Dovlo. Germany is co-financing the library with 600.000,- € and provided mainly furniture, books, magazines and e-licences. Italy funded the construction of the new building and the USA financed the IT-equipment of the library. Since the KAIPTC has received accreditation as a tertiary learning institute in 2011, the new library has become even more important. Bibliothek im KAIPTC Enlarge image (© Botschaft Accra) The presence at this occasion of the participants of the Centre´s first Masters course as well as the presence of the Ambassadors of Germany, Italy and the USA added an appropriate framework und underlined the significance of this support for the Centre.
